Unlike previous versions, it’s not necessary to uninstall your prior X9 version before installing V20. You will need to use this copy of your library going forward. Note: If you have a prior version of EndNote, a copy of your library will be made to make it compatible with V20. Go back and check that the “License.dat” file is in the same folder. Tip: If during installation you are asked to type in a license key number the installation has been actioned incorrectly. Make sure all applications are closed, especially MS Word, when you run the installation.msi installer package making sure the “License.dat” file is in the same folder as shown above.

If you need to use either AGLC or Vancouver (Citing Medicine) referencing styles you will need to add these post-installation. You will need to have MS Word installed prior to running the EndNote installation and make sure that the Word program is not running at the time. There are different installation packages for Windows and Mac devices.ĮndNote works together with MS Word to allow you to Cite While you Write.
